So instead of trying to figure out how to get through everything since I last blogged, my summer so far in photos.
Row 1: Cadence Sock in Plucky Feet Lollipop Guild; Ziggy; Thalia shawl in my first Plucky Knitter purchase (from July 2007).

Whew. All caught up.
It’s been a month since I last wrote here. I KNOW.
But there has been very little to tell. I’ve had bronchitis and general allergy-related malaise for the past few weeks (mostly the bronchitis, but the allergies kicked in this week, thank you pollen).
So, a brief history of March/April in photos:
I got to meet the Mindy family’s new chickens (this is Mrs. Patmore with S in the background).
Birthday party for a 3 year old. I made tiny funfetti cupcakes.
Book club (with bacon wrapped tiny sausages!).
Passover Seder, where S got a belated birthday gift from Sharon & danced around in Hello Kitty rain boots.
A trip to the art museum to visit my favorite painting (at least locally. My FAVORITE painting is in New York). One of Monet’s Water Lilies.
Still knitting the neon.
And since you made it that far, favorite Ziggy napping.
I still have two papers to write & two presentations to give before the semester is done, but it’ll get finished.
The Thursday before Christmas, when the weather was lovely and almost warm, I headed to see Garden Glow with knitting friend Grace.
It was fun & I quite enjoyed seeing all the lights in the garden – it’s on for a few more days, so check it out if you get a chance.
These photos all came from my phone, as my actual camera I took failed completely at being able to capture anything.
Stuck in the Labyrinth.
Christmas has come and gone & I’ve been on vacation for the last week. We finished up our 12 Days of Christmas activity at work, so here are days 6-12:
Day 6: Homemade hot cocoa mix
Day 7: A Keurig for the day. (We have truly terrible coffee at work & have been trying to get a Keurig for a while. One of my coworkers brought hers in from home to share for the day.)
Day 8: Christmas candy cups!
Day 9: Big pot of chili!
Day 10: Cheese crisps
Day 11: Delicious Chex Mix.
Day 12: Kettle Corn…
And has been for a couple weeks now. I just finished my classes for the semester this week (last assignment was submitted on Thursday night) & those last couple weeks were a struggle. Sometimes finding the motivation for classes after a holiday is TOUGH. But I made it through & now it’s on to the holidays!
We’ve been doing a fun little activity at work in the 12 days leading up to our last day of work together before Christmas – each day there’s a new treat to share. I decided to start taking photos & sharing on instagram, so you may have seen them already, but I thought it would be fun to share here, too.
Day 1: Mint Oreo Truffles. Sadly, there’s no photo for this, but it was essentially these truffles made with mint Oreos instead of regular. YUM.
Day 2: Irish Car Bomb Brownies. So good. So rich. I may need to finally make the Irish Car Bomb cupcakes I’ve had pinned forever.
Day 3: Chocolate Chai Spice Cupcakes with a Chai Spiced Swiss Buttercream. These were mine & I still need to write about this buttercream because OH.MY.GOSH. It was delicious.
Day 4: A (small) chance to win $$$ – Lottery Scratchers. This was so fun, even though the biggest prize I heard about was $2. :)
Day 5: This insane Christmas Stollen pastry from MacArthur’s bakery. It was addicting.
Day 6: Delicious homemade hot cocoa mix! I think I might need to go make a cup now. :)
We’ve got one more week of work left before the holiday break/vacation, which I’m so looking forward to. Yay! I’ll be back next weekend to share days 7-12.
