I tested out this recipe over the weekend. It sounded like a no-fail chicken & dumplings for almost no work, but I don’t know… it wasn’t bad, but there was something missing. I used reduced sodium chicken broth & cream of chicken soup, which made it taste like it needed more salt. Then the biscuits did not work well as dumplings – the texture was wrong somehow, though it may have been the biscuits I used.
Anyway, like I said, it wasn’t bad & I’d probably try it again with more seasonings, maybe some vegetables (which would make it more of a stew than straight up chicken & dumplings), and different “dumplings”.
